VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT – FACTS

FACTS Research & Analytics is a Nepal-based private independent research company established in 2012 to cater to the data-driven needs of the organisations and people from both inside and outside Nepal. We use a mix of modern technology, demonstrated academics and human touch to add value to the decisions and strategies of our clients by providing them reliable, contextual and actionable information and insights based on research and analysis.

Position & Tasks Minimum Qualifications/Requirements
1) Senior Research Associate (2 nos.)

·         Write research proposals

·         Develop and design qualitative, quantitative and participatory research methods, and ensure data management appropriate to given project

·         Collect and analyse data, and write reports

·         Manage relationships with research stakeholders such as clients, key informants and research participants directly as needed

Prepare research articles and presentations as needed

·      Minimum master’s degree in research-intensive discipline such as social science, economics, statistics, development studies, and others

·      At least five years of demonstrated experience in managing multiple projects and demanding dead lines including social and business research and monitoring and evaluation studies

·      Thorough knowledge and experience in research design and tools development, and data collection using face-to-face interviews, focus group discussions etc.

·      Able to work independently towards the completion of research tasks and ensure the production of high quality, on-time research outputs and reports

·      Proficient in using qualitative and quantitative data analysis software

·      Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills in Nepali and English languages

Knowledge of other languages will be an asset

2) Research Officer (2 nos.)

·      Supervise research projects from the early planning stages to project completion

·      Work with team members to identify project goals, research methods, variables, and other test parameters appropriate for given project

·      Make research schedules to monitor the activities of research teams

·      Write research proposals

·      Review literature, collect and analyse data, write reports, and make presentations

·      Minimum bachelor’s degree in research-intensive discipline such as social science, economics, statistics, development studies, management; Master’s degree holder preferred

·      Excellent understanding of a range of research methodologies and terminology, including quantitative and qualitative approaches to research

·      Able to handle small research projects independently from inception to completion including training and supervision of field research team, data collection using face-to-face interviews, focus group discussions etc., and transcribing interviews and group discussion to generate summary and reports

·      Proposal and report writing skills

·      Knowledge and proficiency in use of quantitative and qualitative data analysis software like SPSS, STATA, CSPro, R,Atlas.ti, NVivo, MAXQDA etc.

·      Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills in Nepali and English languages

Client management and leadership skills

 

3) Research Assistant (2 nos.)

·      Assist the Research Associates and Officers in given projects by finding relevant information through use of multiple streams of data such as the internet, surveys, review of legal documents, published articles and reports

·      Use decisive reasoning and give attention to detail while finding the right information as per the project objectives

·      Write about the findings clearly in English language

 

·      Preferably a bachelor’s degree in management, marketing, business administration/studies-based disciplines

·      Strong interest in research, data collection (online and offline) and analysis

·      Willing to travel frequently inside and outside the Kathmandu Valley for field research

·      Prior experience in handling surveyors and enumerators will be an advantage

·      Experienced working in WORD, Excel and PowerPoint Presentation
