South Asian Regional Institute on the Study and Practice of Strategic Nonviolent Action

The South Asian Regional Institute on the Study and Practice of Strategic Nonviolent Action (Asian Action Institute) offers practitioners and scholars a great opportunity to learn about and reflect on ways to achieve social change through nonviolent civil resistance actions.
Participants: The Asian Action institute is designed for activists, organizers, scholors, teachers, civil society professionals, as well as civic and political leaders across South Asia. Applicants from other region can also apply for the Institute.
Presenters: Local, regional and international experts will present at the institute and a field trip will offer an opportunity to listen to local organizers and learn about a local social justice campaign. Participants will also have an opportunity to present on the local campaigns and movements that they have been involved in.
Location: Six-day long- Residential Institute will be held at Dhulikhel Village Resort.
Language: The Institute language will be in English.
Cost: The total cost of the program is USD 150. The program fee covers participation in the Institute, materials, certificates, and a field trip. Participants can apply for a scholarship if needed. Full or partial scholarship will be provided in need basis. **Registration fee of USD 50 is mandatory to all participant including Scholarships and is non refundable.
Organizers: The Center for Social Change (CSC), the Department of Conflict, Peace and Development Studies at Tibhuvan University (DCPDS, TU),the National Network of the Families of the Disappeared and Missing Nepal (NEFAD) and the International Center on Nonviolent Conflict (ICNC).
